LAW
Law at Liverpool Hope gives you the chance to study the subject alongside another area, such as Criminology, Psychology or Sociology.
You’ll develop a strong understanding of legal principles while exploring how law connects to society and other disciplines in a practical and exciting way. The course gives you the freedom to follow your interests through optional modules in areas like business law, international law and human rights law. You’ll experience hands-on, practice-focused learning including mooting competitions and the Hope Law Clinic, where you can gain real client experience by providing supervised legal advice to members of the public.
The Moot Courtroom also helps you build confidence in advocacy and courtroom skills. With small-group teaching delivered by qualified solicitors and research-active academics, you’ll receive plenty of personal support and individual attention. This flexible degree builds excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills that are highly valued across many careers. Combined Honours graduates can still qualify as solicitors via the SQE route without needing a conversion course. If you’re passionate about law and want to combine it with another subject, this course offers the perfect balance of legal knowledge, real-world experience and broader perspectives.

POLITICS
Study a Politics degree that explores how power shapes society, influences decision-making and responds to the biggest challenges facing the UK and the wider world. At Liverpool Hope University, you'll examine political ideas, institutions and public policy while developing the skills to understand and evaluate today's fast-changing political landscape.
This Politics course combines academic study with practical experience, encouraging you to debate contemporary issues, analyse political events and develop evidence-based arguments. Through policy briefs, simulations and authentic assessments, you'll build the research, communication and critical thinking skills valued by employers.
You'll learn from academics whose expertise spans British, European, and American politics amongst others, political theory, comparative politics and public policy. Small class sizes mean you'll work closely with your lecturers, contribute confidently to discussion and receive personalised support throughout your degree.
Beyond the classroom, you'll have opportunities to engage with politicians, policymakers and public sector professionals through the Practitioners in Politics and International Relations series and other external opportunities, helping you understand how politics works in practice while building valuable professional networks.
If you want to study Politics and make a difference in society, this degree provides the knowledge and confidence to shape your future.
