Fitness class timetable
Summer Period: June - September 2022
The Group Fitness & Sport Timetable is currently suspended.
Fitness classes are included in the Sports Complex Membership.
We have a wide range of classes on offer, and we cater for all abilities so there is something for everyone to try.
How to book
In order to attend a class you will need to make a reservation, reservations can be made up to 7 days in advance by ringing 0151 291 2911 or calling into the Centre.
If you have not made a prior booking you will not be allowed entry into the class.
You must sign in and show your card at the Reception Desk before you access the class.
Please note: during university holiday periods and non-term time, some classes may be suspended. To keep up to date with any changes, check these pages, our social media, or contact Hope Park Sports.
Yoga- A form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing.
Pilates- All over body workout, which improves posture and core muscles, lengthens and strengthens muscles and helps prevent injury.
H.I.I.T- High Intensity Interval Training which involves high intensity exercise followed by short intervals of low intensity exercise.
L.I.I.T- Low Intensity Interval Training, involving intervals of longer rest periods between exercises.
Bootcamp- A variety of different exercise routines that will help you burn calories, increase strength, boost confidence and improve aerobic endurance, coordination and balance. The types of exercise workouts may include: HIIT, X Fit, Boxing, Military Style Training, Circuit Training, Strength & Conditioning plus many more.
Circuits- Total body workout incorporating weights and cardio
Couch to 5K- Replicating the couch to 5k programme, starting off gently and gradually increasing intensity and distance over time. For all abilities. Meeting point at Reception, no requirement to book.
TRX- TRX Suspension Training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a highly portable performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user's body weight to complete 100s of exercises.
Boxing bag workout- Based around a skipping rope, bench, a gym mat and a boxing bag. Allowed 2 bookees per session, members must bring their own gloves and no sparring is allowed. The sessions are 20 minutes long and we encourage participants to make a little circuit around the pieces of kit.
Flex- A form of yoga and pilates mixed into one, still focusing on strength and flexibility.
Cardio+- Group exercise utilising rowing machines and spin bikes plus a different extra workout each week.
Total body workout- This is an unsupervised workout that up to 6 people can book on to. It is in the dance studio and participants can either do their own workout based around the equipment given or they can use one of our suggested workouts that will be in the studio.
Netball now- Recreational netball sessions for members who didn't make the universities netball teams or didn't want to try out for them. Skills, drills and mini games. Members must book onto these sessions.
Social sports sessions (Basketball, Badminton, Table tennis and Short tennis)- Fun, recreational sessions for members who either did not make the Universities sports teams or did not want to be a part of them. We encourage members to book onto these sessions to ease set up and set down of equipment.
Attending a class
You must sign in and show your card at the Reception Desk before you gain entry into the class.
No entry will be granted in to the dance studio until the Class Instructor arrives.
No bags/coats should be taken into the dance studio - lockers are provided for personal belongings.
Cancelling a class
If you need to cancel your place on a class you are booked onto, you must provide at least 3 hours' notice. Failure to do so will result in a £3.00 charge. Your membership will be suspended until you pay the fine.

If you do not notify us of your cancellation and then fail to show up for the class this will result in you being given 1 strike, if you receive 2 strikes within a 30 day period you will lose the right to book onto any further classes for a 30-day period.
