Summer Study Abroad
Liverpool Hope is delighted to offer Summer Study Abroad courses in May, June and July 2026, open to any of our partner universities and their students, or those attending other universities.
Designed to meet the needs of students majoring in a variety of subjects, the programme is based at Liverpool Hope University and is a combination of formal lectures, discussion groups, small-group tutorials and accompanied trips in the North West of England.
The programme consists of three-week credit-bearing courses, based on a specialist topic, plus cultural and social enhancements. Participants are taught by Liverpool Hope Faculty, including senior professors. All the academics are experts in their subject and publish research in international journals. For further information about what is included, please see the individual programme details below.
Programme dates and fees 2026
Courses will run for 3 or 6 weeks with academic credits available, plus cultural and social activities.
The courses have a minimum of 36 hours scheduled teaching, followed by assessment. As well as developing subject knowledge, participants develop skills in independent research, team working, time management, critical thinking and analysis.
The assessment is marked by Liverpool Hope staff and is worth 15 Liverpool Hope credits per course (normally equivalent to 3 USA academic credits). There will be an volunteering opportunity and a research project option for students wishing to attend for 6 weeks. These will not carry academic credits but are experiential.

*This e-course runs as virtual sessions with some face to face seminars, so that it can be taken as a second course to provide a total of 3 US credits, bringing the total to 6 credits. There is no tuition fee for this course. It cannot be taken on its own and must be combined with another course.
Please note that a minimum number of participants is required for a course to be viable. Therefore, if an applicant selects a course with insufficient demand, they will be directed to their second choice.
*An international office at a partner university can request us to add additional courses to the three blocks if it has sufficient demand from its students.
