Student Futures Internship
Our exciting internship programme funds students to complete 100-hour internships, contributing to forty meaningful projects in the University and with local partners such as Everton In the Community, Careers Connect and Crimestoppers to name a few. We also offer match funding options for local organisations, making it easier than ever to tap and identify emerging talent.
In the academic year 2024 - 2045, the theme for developing projects was mental health and wellbeing. The projects that students have been contributing to have been diverse and expansive. As an example, Klaudia has been working on a project to help students cultivate meditative and reflective practices. While, Muhammad has been working on a project to establish how Artificial Intelligence is impacting student wellbeing and how it can be used to improve mental health.
Preliminarily, the theme for 2025 - 2026 will be focused on the eight graduate attributes that the Learning and Teaching Strategy of Liverpool Hope University has identified for every graduate.

The Student Futures Internship Program aims to support Liverpool Hope University students with real and valuable experience in preparation for employment. The program offers a diverse range of projects that students can apply to be part of. While participating in the internship, interns receive a bursary of £1,200.
Academics and local business partners create projects around their areas of expertise that students spend 100 hours over a desired period of time to complete. While on these projects there are a number of tasks that the University set for interns to complete that are designed to help them hone their skills and improve on their marketability to prospective employers.
The opportunities are advertised on jobteaser and the application is as prescribed on each individual project advertised. Applications close in the 3rd or 4th week of January and the successful interns will start on their project on the date agreed with the project leader. We hope that interns will be armed with the requisite tools to better navigate the employment market as a consequence of participating and also have some fun while doing so.
‘This internship taught me the importance of time management when working in a team. Although I believe myself to have good time management in terms of work, I never understood how having good time management in a workplace was beneficial to everyone else on the team.’ Phoebe Bailey
‘There was a clear understanding of the importance of how to behave and be professional at all times in the workplace.’ Angela Preston
‘This internship has given me a much better insight into workplace expectations and professional behaviour through the online modules I completed.’ Callum Kane
