Turn creative ideas into unforgettable experiences with our BA (Hons) Event Management degree.

Based in Liverpool, a city known for music, sport, culture and major events, you will learn how festivals, conferences, brand activations, sporting events and community celebrations are designed, promoted and delivered.

This creative Event Management degree combines traditional industry skills with newer developments in experience design, digital marketing and audience engagement. You will study event planning, finance, leadership, logistics, risk, sustainability and destination management while developing practical skills in social media, content creation, storytelling, audience analytics and emerging event technology.

Practical learning runs throughout the course. You will respond to industry-style briefs, develop creative event concepts and work with other students to plan, promote, deliver and evaluate a live event. Options allow you to explore areas such as festivals, sport and mega-events, immersive experiences, cultural programming, brand experiences and creative entrepreneurship.

The course is informed by the QAA Subject Benchmark Statement, ensuring that you develop the academic knowledge, creative confidence and professional event-management skills expected by the industry.

Careers

A BA (Hons) Event Management degree can prepare you for creative and management careers across events, tourism, marketing, sport, culture and the visitor economy.

Potential roles include event manager, creative producer, festival producer, event marketing executive, social media manager, content producer, audience development officer, venue coordinator, conference organiser, brand experience executive, destination marketing officer and visitor experience manager.

Throughout the degree, you will build employability skills in leadership, teamwork, budgeting, project management, digital marketing, audience engagement and professional communication. Planning and delivering a live event will give you practical experience to discuss with employers, while creative briefs and industry-style projects will help you build a portfolio of event concepts, campaigns, content and production plans.

Your knowledge of destination management could support careers with tourism organisations, visitor attractions, cultural organisations and local authorities. Digital and creative skills also provide opportunities with marketing agencies, event companies, charities, sports organisations and start-ups.

After graduating, you could progress to postgraduate study in Event Management, Tourism Management, Digital Marketing, Creative Industries, International Hospitality Management, Business Management or Marketing.

Tuition fees

The tuition fees for the 2026/27 academic year are £9,790 for full-time undergraduate courses.*

If you are a student from the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, your tuition fees will also be £9,790.

The tuition fees for the 2027/28 academic year will be £10,050 for full-time undergraduate courses.*

If you are a student from the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, your tuition fees will also be £10,050

The University reserves the right to increase Home and EU Undergraduate and PGCE tuition fees in line with any inflationary or other increase authorised by the Secretary of State for future years of study.

Home students (UK)

*Tuition fees are subject to inflation-linked increases in line with government policy. Updated fees will be confirmed in line with the maximum fee cap set by the Government or the Office for Students (OfS) for each academic year. This means your fee may increase for each academic year of study, but only up to the maximum amount permitted for that year.

Eligible UK students can apply to the Government for a tuition loan, which is paid direct to the University. This has a low interest-rate which is charged from the time the first part of the loan is paid to the University until you have repaid it.
