Want to perform, create and make your mark?

The BA (Hons) Performing Arts at Liverpool Hope University is a contemporary Performing Arts degree for the next generation of actors, dancers, performers and creative artists.

This isn’t just a traditional theatre or conservatoire-style course. You’ll develop your skills across acting, dance, movement, physical theatre, voice, storytelling and devised performance, while discovering new ways to create and share performance on stage, screen, online and in digital spaces.

From your first year, you’ll learn by doing. You’ll rehearse, perform, collaborate and create your own work, building confidence and developing your individual creative voice.

You’ll also explore the future of performance through digital and immersive performance, screen acting, virtual production, motion capture, livestreaming and emerging creative technologies. You’ll discover how technology is changing the way audiences experience performance – and how you can use it to create exciting new work.

Performance can also have an impact beyond the stage. You’ll explore applied theatre, community arts, performance for education, wellbeing and social change, developing the skills to work with different communities and audiences.

Throughout the course, you’ll be encouraged to think creatively, work inclusively and understand the responsibilities that come with telling stories and creating performance.

In your final year, you’ll bring everything together through a major performance project, professional placement, advanced performance practice and creative entrepreneurship.

You’ll graduate with practical experience, a professional showreel and a digital portfolio – ready to take your next step in the performing arts and creative industries.

Tuition fees

The tuition fees for the 2026/27 academic year are £9,790 for full-time undergraduate courses.*

If you are a student from the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, your tuition fees will also be £9,790.

The tuition fees for the 2027/28 academic year will be £10,050 for full-time undergraduate courses.*

If you are a student from the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, your tuition fees will also be £10,050

The University reserves the right to increase Home and EU Undergraduate and PGCE tuition fees in line with any inflationary or other increase authorised by the Secretary of State for future years of study.

Home students (UK)

*Tuition fees are subject to inflation-linked increases in line with government policy. Updated fees will be confirmed in line with the maximum fee cap set by the Government or the Office for Students (OfS) for each academic year. This means your fee may increase for each academic year of study, but only up to the maximum amount permitted for that year.

Eligible UK students can apply to the Government for a tuition loan, which is paid direct to the University. This has a low interest-rate which is charged from the time the first part of the loan is paid to the University until you have repaid it.
