About the course

If you want to inspire children, make a difference every day and graduate ready to teach, our Primary Education (5–11) with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with SENDI degree gives you the knowledge, skills and classroom experience to become a confident and effective primary teacher.

The course combines academic study with extensive school-based training, helping you understand how children learn and how to create engaging learning experiences that enable every pupil to succeed.

You will develop subject knowledge across the full primary curriculum, including English, Mathematics, Science and foundation subjects, while learning from specialists whose teaching is informed by the latest educational research. Professional placements in high-quality partner schools are embedded throughout the programme, allowing you to apply theory in real classroom settings and build the practical skills employers value.

A distinctive feature of the course is its strong focus on inclusive practice and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities). You will develop specialist knowledge of SEND and inclusion, learning how to support diverse learners and gain the confidence to create classrooms where every child can thrive. The programme also helps you develop leadership skills within curriculum areas and communication and language development.

Graduates of BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS (5-11) with SENDI leave Liverpool Hope with the knowledge, confidence and practical experience needed to begin a career as a primary school teacher.

Through extensive professional placements in high-quality partner schools, you will develop the classroom expertise, curriculum knowledge and professional skills required to support children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The course has a strong focus on inclusive education and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), helping you develop specialist skills in supporting diverse learners and creating classrooms where every child can succeed. You will also gain valuable experience in curriculum leadership, communication and language development, and inclusive practice, providing a strong foundation for future leadership responsibilities within schools.

For graduates wishing to continue their professional development, Liverpool Hope offers a range of postgraduate opportunities including MA Education, MA Advanced Mentoring and Coaching, and MA Education Leadership and Management. You can also progress to specialist qualifications such as the NPQ SENDCO, other National Professional Qualifications (NPQs), and postgraduate certificates in Autism and Dyslexia.

Tuition fees

The tuition fees for the 2026/27 academic year are £9,790 for full-time undergraduate courses.*

If you are a student from the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, your tuition fees will also be £9,790.

The tuition fees for the 2027/28 academic year will be £10,050 for full-time undergraduate courses.*

If you are a student from the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands, your tuition fees will also be £10,050

The University reserves the right to increase Home and EU Undergraduate and PGCE tuition fees in line with any inflationary or other increase authorised by the Secretary of State for future years of study.

Home students (UK)

*Tuition fees are subject to inflation-linked increases in line with government policy. Updated fees will be confirmed in line with the maximum fee cap set by the Government or the Office for Students (OfS) for each academic year. This means your fee may increase for each academic year of study, but only up to the maximum amount permitted for that year.

Eligible UK students can apply to the Government for a tuition loan, which is paid direct to the University. This has a low interest-rate which is charged from the time the first part of the loan is paid to the University until you have repaid it.
