Summer Research Scholarship

Only Level I students (who are entering into Level H next academic year: 2024/25) will be eligible to apply/be considered for these scholarships. Although the projects will run soon after the Level I assessments are over until mid-September – with the agreement of your Project Investigator (PI) (i.e. supervisor) you can organise these 100-hour projects at your/their convenience taking into consideration annual leave/holiday period and other responsibilities. You will be required to work under the guidance of your supervisor during that period and meet with them as and when required.

In order to apply, please contact the PI/supervisor by emailing (i) your expression of interest; and (ii) your brief academic profile/CV before the cut-off date TBA. (iii) In your application email please remember to confirm if you would require an on-campus paid accommodation and the duration for the same.

The PI will organise a selection process soon after the deadline date and successful applicants will be informed as soon as possible thereafter to enable them to start on the research scholarship project. The Office of the PVC (Research) will process scholarship payments.

You may cite more than one topic of research interest, however, if successful, you will be assigned only one project and scholarship. Allocations will be made on the basis of availability. The academic profile of the students will be an important indicator to confirm whether they will be progressing from Level I to H.

On successful completion of the research project, you will be invited to a poster presentation session to showcase your work; date for which is TBC and will be announced soon.

Project specific details will be advertised by Schools/Departments via email and Moodle during the week (As soon as available). For avoidance of doubt, you may have an informal discussion about possible research opportunities with your tutors in your Schools/Departments now, however please note that the projects will not be advertised until the week TBA.

Please note: If you require an on-campus (paid) accommodation please remember to confirm the details/dates in your application email when responding to the invitation to apply from your School/Department/Subjects.
