SEARCH

SEARCH is the University Research Centre for the Faculty of Business, Law and Criminology. Additionally, SEARCH profiles research in other Schools related to social and economic action research. SEARCH’s role is to encourage, market, seek funding for, and enhance the activity of the various research groups within the Faculty. It organizes Research Seminars and an Annual Conference, which presents the outputs of our research groups to a wider audience, within the Faculty, across the University and, to a wider audience.
SEARCH, also, holds an international annual conference, with one of the other University Schools or Research Centres, such as the Tutu Centre for War and Peace Studies. It is open to hosting other events of relevance to its core role. For example, it, recently, hosted conferences supporting the Liverpool Sustainable Food Network, a Summer Colloquium, on Valuing Society’s Contribution to Sustainable Development project.

SEARCH is hosting an international Expert Panel, in November 2025, on 'The role of the Social Quality perspective in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine', with the Ukraine Academy of Science. It is also helping to organise an international sustainability conference in Southern Ireland (Shannon Valley) in July, 2025.
SEARCH is, currently, facilitating the research team for a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with the Countess of Chester Foundation NHS Hospital Trust, on 'Cascading leadership for practice-based innovation'. It is developing micro-credentials in sustainable development and business sustainability, with international consultancy Spectreco, and local regeneration hub and sustainability campus One Day Regeneration.
SEARCH is affiliated to the International Association of Social Quality, the UK Centre for Sustainability Research, and the UK Circular Economy Network. SEARCH's Director, Revd Dr Tony Bradley, is a Fellow of Trans4m, Geneva, a member of each of the bodies listed above, and Board-level Editor of the International Journal of Social Quality. He is the author of 11 books, numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, and is currently writing five new books on aspects of business sustainability, cultural change and indigenous knowledge.
