Ukraine - UK Academic Mentorship Programme
In partnership with Science for Ukraine - UK
Purpose of the mentoring scheme
Liverpool Hope University is pleased to support the Ukraine-UK Academic Mentorship Programme, an initiative led by Science for Ukraine-UK. The programme is designed to support Ukrainian academics in navigating the UK higher education system, with a strong focus on professional and career development.
The mentoring scheme aims to support Ukrainian colleagues with:
- Career planning, CV development and job applications
- Academic networking and professional profile building
- Understanding UK academic culture and expectations
- Academic writing and the publication process
- Identifying and securing UK research funding
- Promotion, career progression and long-term development
How the mentoring works
Participants will be matched with mentors who are at a comparable career stage and work within a related academic discipline. Mentoring will begin once a suitable match has been identified.
The scheme is managed through the PushFar platform, which provides tools for online communication, meeting scheduling and note-taking, enabling flexible and effective mentoring relationships.
Mentors and mentees are expected to meet at least once every two weeks for a minimum period of three months. All mentoring sessions will take place online.
