Our community
Our campuses are located amongst various communities in Liverpool. On this page you will find information on things you can get involved with, local parks and shops, and volunteering opportunities.
Hope Park
Our Hope Park campus is located in Childwall, which is a local walk away from Calderstones Park, and Childwall Woods. In the area, you will also find Wavertree Lifestyles centre, where you can go swimming or play various sports. For nightlife, Smithdown road is a 15 minute bus ride away, and is filled with various bars and restaurants. When it comes to doing the weekly food shop, there are local convenience stores located a 5 minute walk away, or you can visit the nearby Tesco or Aldi.
Aigburth
Aigburth Park is located close to Lark Lane, a road full of bars, restaurants, and independent businesses. If you enjoy being outdoors, local parks include Sefton park, festival gardens, and Otterspool. Or, you can walk along the promenade which will lead you right to the Albert Dock. For local shops, Home Bargains and Tesco Express are a short walk away. Buses to the city centre and Hope Park can also be found here, so you will always be able to get around Liverpool.
Creative Campus
If you live on Creative Campus, you will be right on the doorstep of the city centre. Across the road from this campus is Everton Park, where you can see an amazing view of the city. The park also has designated running and jogging routes, for those who want to get involved with fitness. For supermarkets, you can find a nearby Lidl, Home Bargains, as well as an endless amount of shops in Liverpool One!
Volunteering Opportunities
Our community engagement team at Hope takes part in everything to do with the local community. If you are interested in joining in both on and off campus, send an email to cet@hope.ac.uk.
The Whitechapel Centre is close to Creative Campus, and has a variety of volunteering opportunities on offer. You can also volunteer with local charity shops such as Barnardos - who have a shop on Allerton Road, close to Hope Park. Sefton Park Palm House also offers volunteer opportunities, and is local to our Aigburth campus.
Other volunteering opportunities in the city can be found via the Careers Centre on MyHope, which is updated regularly.
