Conservation Biology

Conservation biology is concerned with the protection and management of nature and the Earth’s biodiversity. It involves an evaluation of human and other factors that affect all living organisms with the aim of protecting and conserving species, their habitats and ecosystems. It is an interdisciplinary subject that draws on natural sciences to devise satisfactory processes and approaches by which to sustain and protect plant and animal biodiversity in the UK and abroad.

BSc Environmental Geography

environmental geographyUnderstanding how the physical and ecological worlds interact; how people interact both with each other and with the physical and ecological world; and how landscapes (physical, ecological and human) evolve has never been more important than it is today to address the environmental challenges facing the world.

BSc Environmental Science

Working towards a sustainable, healthy future for people and the environment is a priority. Climate change scenarios indicate the urgent need to work towards this. The Environmental Science degree at Liverpool Hope is designed to give you the best possible opportunities to develop practical skills relevant to the workplace and to deal with the growing global concerns over the environment.

BSc Geography

Geography is about exploring, encountering and engaging with the world around us. It is a dynamic and exciting subject to study. It looks at how the physical world works; how people interact both with each other and with the physical world; how landscapes (both physical and human) evolve; and the ways in which the environment needs to be conserved and managed.

Human Geography

Dry earth landscapeHuman Geography involves the study of the interrelationships between people, place, and environment, and how these vary spatially and temporally across and between locations shaping the lives and activities of people, and their interactions with places and nature.

BSc Physical Geography

The physical environment has received increasing interest in recent years. Examples include the impact of natural disasters, effects of global environmental change and the direct environmental impact of human activity throughout the world. Physical Geography gives a holistic view of the Earth system (including its evolution and the interactions of its key components); evaluates a variety of earth surface processes that modify and shape landscape; and, considers the role of human activity in shaping/modifying the physical landscape.

Tourism

Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries and has become one of its biggest sources of employment. Our Tourism degree looks at tourism from both management and academic perspectives. It looks at issues such as the structure of the tourism industry; impacts of tourism on people and the environment; the emergence of new forms of tourism to rival the package holiday; tourism destination management and global tourism development.

BSc Tourism Management

Our Tourism Management degree equips you with up-to-date knowledge on the key tourism theories and will highlight the major trends and developments in the field. It also demonstrates how the underpinning theories can be applied by tourism organisations in real business settings.

Postgraduate degrees

MSc Ecology and Environmental Management

The MSc Ecology and Environmental Management aims to develop advanced academic understandings and insight relating to ecology and the environmental management of natural resources. Field based elements are a significant part of the course.
