Assistive technology is not available for students to use off site.
Learning Support Information
We offer appointments face-to-face, on the telephone and via skype on request. Appointments can be booked by telephone, 0151 291 3427, or via email, studentlife@hope.ac.uk, or in person at the reception desk on the ground floor of the Gateway Building, Hope Park.
The Learning Support Team also runs drop-in advice sessions which run from 12pm to 2pm each weekday during term. Simply give your name to main reception on the ground floor of the Gateway Building at Hope Park while the drop-in is running

Information and Communications Technology Facilities at HCC
- All College computers have Windows 10 which includes the Ease of Access tools such as magnifier, narrator, on-screen keyboard. College computers also have Text Help Read and Write Gold which can help students who have difficulties with reading and writing, learning English and literacy difficulties.
- The text help reading aloud software is available across the College network and is also available to students at home via laptops which are available to loan .
- The College has a dedicated ICT Help desk that is there to support students and deal with any ICT issues that they may have. It is available from 8:30am until 8:30pm Tuesday to Thursday during term-time, 8:30 until 6:00pm on Mondays and 8:30 until 4:00pm on Fridays.
- The VLE that the HE students use for their courses is provided by the relevant University and most University students do not really make use of the College VLE. HE students use college computers with access to suitable software such as, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. There is also an accessibility section on the college Moodle front page to change font size, background colour, use text-to-speech.
- ICT staff have over ten years’ experience in managing the needs of HE students.
