Learning Support

The Learning Support team arranges support for disabled students. This includes students with dyslexia or other specific learning difficulties, long term medical conditions, mental health difficulties, sight or hearing impairments or physical impairments. Applicants and students may disclose a disability at any time.

Learning Support Plans

Liverpool Hope has a legal obligation to make reasonable adjustments for disabled students to meet their support needs. This information is communicated to University staff via a Learning Support Plan (LSP) agreed with the student. LSPs may also include emergency medical information. It is essential that lecturers access the LSPs for students in their class. Please click on the links below for step-by-step guides.

What support is available for staff?

We would be pleased to meet with you to discuss any issues relating to the support of individual disabled students or inclusive practice. We lead workshops on topics such as:

  • How to access Learning Support Plans for disabled students
  • Dyslexia friendly teaching materials
  • Support for Disabled Students.

We run drop-in advice sessions for which no appointment is needed. These take place on the 1st floor of the Gateway Building, Hope Park, usually from 12 – 2pm Monday to Friday during term-time only. Staff and students are welcome. We offer confidential face to face appointments and telephone appointments at Hope Park. Network of Hope students are usually offered a telephone appointment in the first instance. Please ask if you have particular requirements in relation to meeting with us.
