Student route visa (previously Tier 4)
This is a visa for students studying on full-time undergraduate degree level programmes, and full or part-time postgraduate programmes. Applicants need to score 70 points to be eligible for a visa. 50 of these points are awarded for having a valid CAS number (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies). 10 points are awarded for holding the required maintenance funds, and 10 points for meeting the English language requirement.
What is a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)
A CAS is a unique 14 digit long reference number, provided to the University by the UKVI via an online database, when we have provided them with information about you, and your intended studies. You will need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number to submit with your visa application to the UKVI, as they use this number to identify your information. A CAS can only be used once.
How do I get my CAS number?
You will need to submit a CAS Request form which will emailed to you, and can be considered by a Compliance Review Panel when you have:
- accepted your offer to study at Liverpool Hope University
- met any outstanding academic conditions (including English language ability)
- paid a £3000 tuition fee deposit
Please note that an offer to study does not guarantee Student route visa sponsorship.
For full details, visit our CAS number page.
Additional notes
Please remember that it is your responsibility to apply for and receive your visa in time to start your course. Student route visa applications can be made 6 months before the course start date, and the University recommends that you apply for your visa at least three months before your course start date. Visa offices are extremely busy in July and August, and in December and January, so it is important to give yourself plenty of time.
