Workload Model 2023

Following extensive discussions between the University and UCU via the formal mechanism of JCNC, the agreed workload model for academic staff is set out below. This model will be reviewed in June 2024 and annually thereafter to ensure that it remains fit for purpose.

Within the parameters of the workload model, academic staff  agile working arrangements and flexibility will continue to be managed locally by Deans/Heads of Schools/Departments. Fundamental to this is ensuring that our campuses remain vibrant, busy and collegiate for all. 

The University’s commitment for a strong on campus presence  in supporting its students remains core to decisions around agile working arrangements for all staff.
